Shedding

Dear friends of the forum.

Today, my newly bought Blue bar Ambelobe who is 6 month old started shedding his skin. In one day he dropped the whole thing. I wanted to know if that is normal for his age and this time of the year, and in general how often do they do that?

It is perfectly normal for a young cham to complete a whole shed in a few hours because they are growing at a faster rate (about once a month or so). Once they become adults, you will feed them less and the shedding will occur every once in a while. You will find that they will shed in certain areas of their body at different times. With all that being said, it is helpful to keep humidity up. An extra misting or two is all you need to help aid the process. If you see that he is having trouble shedding, take a wet Q-tip and gently rub that area. Just be sure to not pull on any loose skin. :)
