Shedding?

So this started a day ago around Tillman's eyes. We've had him a month now so I'm guessing it's his first shed with us. I've read that misting more is helpful, but he's just getting over a RI so I don't know if that would be harmful for him.

Any suggestions on how to help him during this time?

My veiled usually starts a shed at her eyes too, oddly enough. Not really sure why. As for misting, it is true that it helps the shed along if you have a little extra water in there. I don't know much about RIs, and I haven't dealt with them yet, but over the time I have been on the forums I have gathered a bit of info. If the shed is starting at her head, which is where the misting is needed most right now, you may not want to mist because she could breathe the mist in since it is so close to her mouth. I don't know what the mist would do to her RI recovery, though. Not sure if that helped any, but its my input. @kinyonga will probably know more on the subject than me.

Just increase misting duration slightly to ensure he has enough time to clean his eyes and allow the mist to cover his body to soften the shed.

From what I've seen, most RIs are from keeping the ambient humidity too high from misting too frequently. If you are allowing the enclosure to dry out in between misting then you should be fine.

The vet told me to use artificial tears to keep my chameleons eyes moist during shedding just to make sure a sheddIng problem doesn’t happen again. Just regular artificial tears not the ones with a bunch of chemicals
