Shedding

I was wondering around when Chameleons shed?

I have my Male that just got done shedding and then my Female started. I've never had them shed before.

How can I help them make it more comfortable?

If there's no problems then just let them be. If they are having difficulties shedding that means the cage isn't humid enough.

you can mist them more often or just give them a shower. once my cham is oh most done shedding i put him in the shower for 20 minutes or so. it helps a lot.

okay thanks to both of you.

She started with her head and then moved onto her legs, I took this picture this morning. I've never seen her shed before so I thought I would ask and get advice. My Male shed in one day he was fast.

Thanks for the help. I've been misting her throughout the day. She HATES being misted I am hoping that soon she will start to like it, Misting her doesn't stress her out as much anymore. I don't think I dare try to shower her lol

if she is 5 months old or older, shower will benefit her.
but, you don't really need to do it.

True, same thing with my Cham. He will puff up and try to bite me if i get the mister inside the cage, but most of the time I spray him so he will get used to it.

She's almost 10 months by now. Its not a shower that concerns me, its how she will handle it. I dont want to risk anything

Lol, Same thing with me. I don't want to do that because I'm affraid that my Veild will jump off.

Yeah I'm not so much scared about that, she never seems to want to jump, sje always holds on death grip when handled. Its just if misting stresses her, imagine what a shower will do!

shower will stress her for the first time.
But, most chameleon will learn to appreciate it more and more.
and the benefit is just amazing.
it re-hydrates her plus it can also cure some minor eye irritations when it is still early.

To them, shower is equivalent to rain.
They will instinctively go to the top and let the warm mist wet them.
i would recommend you to do it once in a while.

misting, however, is different. because they see a giant being carry a water gun and spit at them :D

My cham can't wait to have the session.
when i took him out to bathroom, he always turn bright green and immediately perch on the top.

lol. My never does that

I mist mine from the top, so its not eye level to them so they don't really know whats bringing the mist. Maybe we will try showers but I wouldn't count on it.

I mist all around. Now it makes more sense.
