Shedding

yes. they dont feel comfy, they are itchy, and grumpy, so they oftentimes reduce or stop eating.
:D

Oh I see. I'm new to chameleons and thought I was doing something wrong because she hasn't been eating, but when I checked on her today there was shedded skin all over her viv :)

Yea youre ok.
My guys wont always eat when shedding either.

Dont be surprised if she rubs herself on branchs and the cage.

Higher humidity for the next couple days will help to.

ANy questions you have, feel free to post.

Someone is always willing to help!

;)

Brilliant.. Thank you :) how long does this normally go on for? I know every Cham is different, so a rough guide will do :).

For babies under 6 months- nromally completed in about a day or two. though tiny flecks can still be left.

juvis 6 months to 1 year- 2-3 days. again small flecks. at this point, they may not do a full body shed.

adults- weeks. may shed a body part at a time, meaning tail here, foot there, casque another time.. can seem like they are always in a state of shed.

All you can do.
She knows what shes doing. so relax and enjoy.

BTW- hope you have info on egg laying.
since they can lay without being bred.

Sometimes they change colors, sometimes not.

Honestly, once females hit 6 months old, we just put laying buckets intheir cage 24/7.
