She's bobbing

I introduced my male to my female in her cage today. They looked at each other for awhile and then he approached her. They were facing each other very close and she rubbed him under the chin. She started swaying, and swaying, keeping it up then chinned him again. Etc. He approached her and tried to get her under him - very gently - however she was pearched on some pretty thin branches with lots of leaves and he couldn't get too her 'cause the branches wouldn't hold him. They faced each other like this bobbing and chinning.

I finally removed him and decided I had to put more sturdy branches in her cage.

My question is, neither fired up with any signs.....does that mean anything? I at least know they like each other. LOL

If a female is receptive. She will allow the male to approach her. If not ready, she will constantly try to get away from him, sway back and forth or attempt to bite him. Whe the male is ready he will flatten his body, making him look real big and then go after the female(hoping she is impressed with him).

I would have to agree that she sounds unreceptive. How old is she? What is her coloration like?

When I put my receptive female in the cage with a male... she will literally approach him, and pursue him, grabbing HIS tail if he doesn't get to work quick, if you know what I'm sayin.;) That or I have seen her position herself in the ideal position, with her tail up, and stare back at him... waiting for him to jump on.

Swaying is definately a sign that she is not ready... I would give it a few weeks before you try again... You won't really see any firing up(at least I havn't) But you will see your female displaying Robins Egg Blue spots once she is ready to mate... Sometimes they will also seem restless like they are looking for a male.
