He really does not seem to like the sun. HE scurries to the bottom of his carry tote, goes flat on his side on the bottom of the tote(like laying on the floor), does the karate pose and sits there and hisss... hisss hisssssssssss. Like it is burning him. Sometimes he turns a orangish color too. As soon as he is out of the sunlight, he becomes active again and sociable. I am beginning to think I should not take him into the sunlight :p

I got some new pictures of him today while he was doing his "It burns!!! auugh" Impression.

He may be nervous because theres no ceiling . Birds are a natural predator of these guys maybe his instincts are over reacting .

That is a great looking veiled! Nosferatu is a great name. I have a bulldog named Norman. He will calm down eventually out in the sun. Lots of things going on out there and he knows it. Potential predators, brighter than usual lights, etc.

that a beaut cham. You are lucky.
Personally i'd never name any pet with a name as negative as "Nosferatu".
Have you done extensive research on the roots of that word?

ok, time to use my "Tongue in cheek" preface to my Nosferatu comment.

IT was meant to be a joke, because he HATES sunlight. :p:rolleyes:

And, thank you all. He has been a real treat to raise. Just frustrating trying to get him into sunlight.

No one mentioned that he could be seeing his reflection in that tote. Also it will get really hot in there with the sun beaming down in it. IT doesnt cost much to make a screened cage you can keep outside or even make his inside enclosure mobile. This way he gets to stay in his home but enjoy the natural sunlight:)

2 sides have screen on them, the other sides have green plastic vines and leaves. I thought of refliction too, but he literally lays down on the floor of his travel tote, which is the only reflective side. He stares out at the sky, until I take him out of the sun,(into shade, or whatever) then he mellows out instantly.

He is an odd duck
