Shower?

I have been seeing all things about putting your chameleon in the shower? I have never attempted doing this on weebo yet and I would love to! Can someone step by step help me do this :)

Shower Method:

1) Put your right foot in, take your right foot out, put your right foot in and .....just kidding. It's past my bed time!

The shower method is simply placing something for your chameleon to sit on in the shower(fake plant, grouping of branches, etc.). Making sure that it is sturdy and will not fall over with your chameleon moving on it. Then turn the shower on luke warm...NOT HOT....chameleons can burn very easily. Then, simply aim the shower head at the wall. This will allow the mist and redirected water droplets to land on, near , and around your chameleon. Never aim the shower head directly at Weebo...this is sure to tick him off!!!!

I like to shower my chameleons once a month for around 30-45 minutes. Now, that is not needed, it is just my preference. But I keep mainly montane species of chameleons.

Besides the obvious hydration benefits, the shower method is great during shedding sessions and to help them clean out their eyes!

Hahaha your funny! but I'm gonna give weebo a bath sunday!! but I got another question when u said to face my shower head to the wall. Mine doesn't do that it barley hits the wall when I tried only straight. (if you know what I mean) is there another way?

Yes the alphakenc way is I do shower with my cham individually....i use a organizers stand for ur chamy to stand on,and use my Big back as a direct water shield ,gently splashed on the chamy, since u mentioned ur shower head barely turn n hit to the wall only shoot straight...unless u are too shy to shower with a cham, the

n u need a big shield like a piece of wood board u can find in ur kitchen, use it to bounce of the water then splashed on to the chamy:)

As far as I can tell, the idea behind "showering" is to have mist droplets falling around your chameleon for long enough that he will drink enough to rehydrate himself. In other words, you are solving a dehydration problem with your chameleon. My thoughts are that if you have to rely on showering your chameleon in order for it to be properly hydrated, there is something amiss with your husbandry.

They don't need a "bath" to clean themselves because they are not on the ground walking through their excrement. They do need fine misting to clean their eyes though.
