Showering chameleon help?

Never thought of that >.> a lot of people say tap water is dirty... I don't bother drinking it cuz I always have bottled water ._.

Actually if you look into it. Most bottled water is tap water. Some is filtered yes, but you would be surprised at how much bottled water is just tap water.

I take the ficus from their cages and place it in the shower. I suspend my mist nozzle overhead. I fill a twenty gallon container with warm water (it is important to cover this if it is left near the chameleons). I run this overnight about twice a week. I work with montane species. They usually respond by "sprinting" for cover then they settle into their "rain coma." In the morning they seem pretty well hydrated. Of course this is in addition to misting and dripping their cage.

Bottled water has to be purified before they sell them.

I tried tongive them a shower today and he was wiggling everywhere! Like water gets in his eyes and he closes it the whole time... And stills wiggled around with his eyes closed. I took him out and he was squirming around on my hand with his eyes closed o.o so... I put him backing his cage... Is that how they are with their first shower???

They clean out their eyes in the shower. Its actally pretty good at doing this. Yes they will keep them closed for the most part. Just make sure the water is pointed at the wall for a indirect mist. There are alot of benefits to a shower. So dont get discouraged. Try short showers once or twice a week till he learns to like it. Good luck;)
