Shriveled eggs means dead?

Hey everyone, so i have one pair of bearded pygmy chameleons wc, and about two months ago i cleaned out their cage and found 6 perfectly white little tic tac eggs. I was very excited. I don't have an incubator so i put them in some eco earth and into a deli cup. They have looked awesome until this week when they all shriveled up. I also found three more shriveled up eggs in the tank two days ago. What should i do?

Was the eco earth moist? Eggs need moisture to live, they may still come back with the right humidity.

Oh yeah, make sure they are properly moist first. Thanks Warrix!

If so, you may need to cut open the most shriveled one. Place it on a flat towel and slice the very tip off. Do not squeeze the bottom while cutting or there may be a body part pressing on the top where you are cutting.

yes the eco earth was moist but not soaked, okay i will try that with the egg, what exactly am i doing by doing thta?

Eggs sweat and then shrink in when they are going to hatch...so maybe they are going to hatch. Post a picture of them before you cut into one....you might be killing a baby...and if its dead it won't hurt to wait another day or two to open the egg.

I ended up cutting into them, fully formed but dead babies :/ i might have screwed up idk......

I'm afraid it might be dying right now. The incubation time seems about right and I'm guessing he missed the sweating so who knows how much longer they've got.

Oh, if you do cut it open it may not move for quite some time so don't throw it out.

Aw crabs. Too late. Are the obviously dead?

Babies dont get up as soon as they get out of the egg. Usually they will just lay there for up to 2 days.

Try lightly misting one of them and see if you get a twitch or not.

Damn i think i might have been alittle hasty! Well first time eggs on my part, you know shite happens. No they were obviously dead. Damn :/

needing help with my eggs

:confused:i notice about a 2 weeks ago some eggs in my pygmy tank. i havent touched them because i see where alot of people say just let nature take it course. I do notice where one of them is changing color. I am not really sure how long they have been there. My main question is: How long after mating do the females lay eggs? , because i bought the pair at the san deigo reptile show at the end of june, a few days after getting them home the male died it was sad, I was hoping to bread them and now she has laid eggs. Do they lays eggs even when there is no sex between a pair? OR Did I get really lucky and them breed and it was to much for him and he had a heart attack? That would be the way to go I guess.
