sameI hope she is good and pulls thru ?
yesDid you provide her a bucket 3/4 filled with moist sand or dirt? Female chameleons dig a hole...lay their eggs and then cover it up.
Good. Did she already did the hole in the dirt! The whole process takes one to two days. Five hours to dig. Several hours to lay eggs. Several hours to backfill. Sometimes she does some test digging for a few days before the serious egg laying dig. Sometimes she sleeps in the bucket and finishes the next morning. She will be exhausted when she is finished. Give her water and offer food. She will be herself again in a day.
Not eating in a month is not good. Can you post photo of your cage and provide lighting, heating, water supply details? Do you dust your crickets? I have a lot of information about proper care of Veiled Chameleons here. www.markschameleons.comshe is laying right now... i pray there is still time
this is also my first, and i never thought i could get this attached

For a female if you want to reduce clutches and egg count to put less stress on the female basking should actually be no higher than 80 F.What are you using to provide UVB lighting? How hot is the basking area? Should be in the mid 80s.
No, I thought that basking for females should only go up to 80 or so, along with reduced amount of feeders to reduce some of the stress from egg-laying.That sounds a bit low to me for a basking temp. Do u mean ambient temp?
Many, myself included, try to reduce egg laying frequency and clutch size with lower temps and decreased feeding. http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.htmlThat sounds a bit low to me for a basking temp. Do u mean ambient temp?
Aww I’m so sorry. ??oof i hate to say this but... shes gone. I put the lay bin in there to late
I think planting a tree next to her would be a nice way to memorialize her.we buried her and are thinking of a marker for her her name was rango like from the animated film any ideas?
