hey guys just wondering how many of you guys significant others share the love for this great hobby because mine has no interest in it at all she doesnt get it

Well I don't have a boyfriend... But... I do have lots of friends who come over and love to watch SoBe eat and stuff... But no one has the love and passion I do!

Hehe my lil brother loves him but says that his nails r too sharp, so he won't hold him :( whimp! lol

My husband is the one that got me into this hobby. I'm the one that 'drives' it now, though. He thinks the chams are very neat, but mostly leaves the care, research and decisions to me. :)

HAHAHAHA!
My ex-girlfriend was terrified of lizards.... even the little brown anoles outside.
It was the weirdest thing in the whole world.
Anyways, that's probably the reason we broke up.:D

How many of the guys out there with wives have you on lock down?
No, I said NO! No more chameleons.
I swear, if you bring home one more lizard I'm going to buy a 300$ purse!

Julia loves our Herps, and is actually very helpfull as far as the chores go. It took her a little bit, but she is becoming more and more into it by the day. I am experiencing the "No More" bit as well though... But it is good to keep the voice of sanity around.

Sometimes people can be weird.

Like us.

We like to take care of incredibly challenging animals that literally give nothing back to us besides observability.
Like Joe said, it's good to let a spouse or significant other keep you grounded.

My wife tolerates my chameleon hobby ;). No she's better then that. At times she enjoys it too, and recently helped me medicate Yoda (which was probably the second time she's ever held a chameleon.) She cares about my chameleons only because she cares about me. She also justify's it because I'm an artist and she knows I benefit from inspiration of all kinds.

But it's definately a struggle sometimes financially, when I want to spend 200 bucks on vet bills, manzanita, and cockroach colonies.

We fought way more over the cockroaches then anything else. Way more.

Well, the roaches were an ongoing arguement that helped us split. Of course there were more problems but this isnt the Springer show. Besides, my new gf Crystal is falling for chams like I did, roaches and all.

Well, my hubby got the first one and didn't tell me. He kept Arnold at work. One day I visited him and saw this cute little thing and wanted to take it home. I am now the keeper of the chams. HE is afraid to pick up Arnie, but will pick up the mild mannered Desi. He has never cleaned the cage but will offer advice. Don't worry, I take the forums advice over his since he hasn't even read the veiled cham book we have.

He can do the snakes...not my favorite thing to do.

My partner is very accomodating of my love for chameleons and interest in insect pets etc. He even helps a little, when asked. In fact he choose and named one of the offspring we kept. And despite being terrified of spiders, and lumping most bugs into the category of spiders, he is quite accepting of my roaches, stick bugs, crickets, worms, etc. I think it helps a great deal that all the lizards and bugs have their own room. I can have as many as I want, so long as they fit in that room. :) I also think it helps that my partner cant see small things without his glasses on ("oh no dear, thats not an escaped roach/cricket, thats a spider - you just stay safe in the other room while I take care of it, hm?")

After a stray desert tortoise literally visit her backyard and won her heart, she finally realize the joy of having reptiles as pets (We try to find the owner of the tortoise but fail. So we decide to keep the tortoise and just 2 months ago, we got the permit from the state to keep it as a pet).

my gf is finally adjusting to chameleons.
Just today, she asked me if she can hold my baby chameleon.
But, I told her in a kind manner, "No, dear. Chameleon is a see only animal."
I don't think that speech help. O well, the dilemma...

well it would seem that im not alone we just need to keep trying to help them see the wonder of this hobby convert them if you will hahaha fat chance

we both adore chams :) got our first one together (little baby veiled) he died, still dont know why. vet said 4 grams was too small to do a blood test. anyways, we have a veiled now and we both love him !!

haha well i dont have a chameleon YET, but i got my GF a leopard gecko for her birthday, and i think she loves it more than she loves me! now my birthday is on monday and shes taking me to the columbus reptile show to buy me a cham! i cant wait i think she loves reptiles just as much as i do

I am the luckiest guy ever. My wife Stephanie is into any pet I come home with, although she doesnt like having a thousand things plugged in every outlet heh heh...I came home the other day from work and she was inspecting our fruit fly cultures and examining the maggots...God I love her :p She is quite the woman!

My husband is very supportive of my hobby and is very good with all of them. He gets very attached and is learning alot. I am very lucky.
