He's asleep like this! Is this normal?! :p

That's not exactly normal, but it's not a health issue either. Chams usually end up sleeping in random places like that when they are taken by surprise by the lights going out.

A simple way to solve this problem is to provide 'cues' of nighttime approaching, instead of simply switching the lights off all at once. To do this, just run your UVB flourescents on different circuits/timers to the heat lamps. Then make sure that the heat lamps turn off at least 30mins-1hour before the flourescents turn off.

You'll notice that as soon as the heat lamps turn off, the cham will start making its way to its sleeping spot, and having the flourescents still on will provide it with enough light to find its way there (instead of getting lost and ending up sleeping on the screen of the cage).

Interesting, thanks.

He did seem to be asleep before the lights were turned off, though. He went to the vet yesterday, so maybe he was worn out?!
