Sink Vanity As Base

I got the idea from someone on this forum but I am using this vanity with sink as my base. I will be setting up my 24x24x48 this week and attaching my AquaZamp too. I have a drain tray from LLL coming with my cage. My plan is to drill holes in drain pan and have sink catch water. I will have my AquaZamp bucket and a 5 gallon bucket below to catch water. What kind of connection from sink to bucket has anyone else doing the same used? I may be able to place bucket right under sink hole but not sure if that will work with space underneath. I have something similar. Is there a sink with your vanity? Do you plan on using the sink or setting the cage and drain pan over the hole?

There is a sink that I plan on letting the water drain into. Underneath the sink there is no plumbing just a hole.

The sink isn't flush with the vanity is it? Your cage will sit on the lip of the sink. That was my concern with the sink and I chose not to use it. I cut a piece of plywood to fit over the vanity and used that as a base for the cage to sit on.

If you opt to use the sink, just get a PVC cut to fit and place your bucket under the PVC. Voila! :)

That's kind of what I was thinking but it would be easier if there was a threaded piece on the sink. I'll have to go to Lowes and see if maybe like a 1 or 2" fitting with a flange can sit in sink and the threads may be exposed underneath so I can thread an elbow connection and attach tube to that then tube to bucket. We'll see. I'll post what I come up with

Awesome! Tad more advanced than my project, lol! I also like the marble or granite top that yours has!

Nice Job!!!! I just put my 5 gallon pail under the sink drain hole,,,the less things to reconnect after emptying the better for someone forgetful like me!!!!!

I'm curious to see how it comes out with the 24X24X48 cage because we also just did this. I wanted to use a vanity with granite top, but bathroom vanities don't have the 24" depth and to order a 30X24 kitchen cabinet with granite or corian with the integrated sink was pricey. We opted to get a 24X24 cherry base cabinet and mount the LLL reptile tray directly onto it, drilling through it and using a sink drain into a bucket in the cabinet below.

ETA: I love the look with the smaller cage though.

Thank you. Lowe's happen to have this one on sale. I wanted the 24" depth but they don't have it so another reason I got this one is because the back splash came disconnected from the top. This way I can either let cage hang over or I thought about fastening a 1x2 or something to the wall behind and set the back splash piece on that and rest front end on cabinet top. This would get my surface to about 24". I want as few of connections as possible too so when the cage and tray etc come in, i'll play with it underneath and hopefully can just have bucket directly below drain opening. Thanks to the fine folks on this forum for the idea! Great group of people.
