Six Cages 25$ Drainage

Most of you know I have been using a 90$ rack to house six chameleons double stacked.
I purchased the rack from Home Depot, along with all the drainage pieces.
If anyone is considering doing this, then I have supplied a material list.
The 25$ includes all the parts and pieces.
-16' or two 8' pieces of 3/4" pvc tubing. 6$
-pvc cutter 8$
-PVC prep cleaner and glue 5$
-5 T's 37 cents each 1.85$
-3 L's 37 cents each 1.11$

I'll let the pictures explain the rest.

I wish I could afford those cages. $65 at the expo. I need to downsize some of my cages, this would be a perfect setup.

I was just thinking of doing something like this with guttering. But this looks alot better. Thanks for the tip Justin

i just let the water go all over the floor but i have a drain in the floor so it works great when im done i just wash the floor down

quick question. How do you have the pvc attached to the floor of the cage?

I've had something (much more half-a$$ed) in the past. Your setup is with a simple, cheap pvc flat bottom, right? Doesn't look like a drain pan.

HA! "Padme" the chameleon. You are such a nerd homeboy. :p :D

Watching episode II right now! You have great eyes.

Dude where did you get that idea!?!?!?!?! Who helped you???;)

Ha! I came up with the idea, and had most of the work done before your brother came over to help.

Eric, the bottoms are made up with 1/8" pvc. I tried my best to cut the drain tubes flat. All they do it sit tight/flush against the pvc bottom. If you wanted, then you could seal it with some silicone, but mine doesn't leak. I used zip ties to fasten the pvc tube to the pvc cage bottom. You wrap one zip tie around the pvc and around two of the bars on

Thanks to everyone else.

Way off topic but...

Outstanding! :D I'm doing the 6 episode marathon again tonight. *Jedi hand wave* I am not a nerd. These aren't the droids you're looking for. You can go about your business. Move along. ;)

what size cages are those. how long do you mist for. I am setting something up with multiple cages. right now i have paper towels on the bottom which catches the excess water, just have to change them everyday. I like your idea

Looks like it only took you 2 joints to figure out that primer goes everwhere and also to hold the pipe sideways with a slight angle downward or upside down:p. Honestly you wouldnt have to use any primer and probably not even glue since its not pressurized. Personally I would still use the glue so everything stayed nice and together, especially with a set up like yours since its got a lot of joints but a small one cage setup would be fine without glue. How long did you wait for the vapors to clear? Besides those 2 joints the rest of them are PERFECT!!! SORRY I AM A PLUMBER YOU KNOW:)

That fist sentence does sound very good hahahaha. Great work!
