Size Importance

I currently have a 18x18x36" reptibreeze for my veiled chameleon. I should one day get a 2'x2'x4' cage, but I wanted to know how important that is since I don't want to spend $100 on another cage.

Depending on what type of chameleon that you have. Im pretty sure that the cage you have is good enough.

18" Will be to small for an adult veiled (in my opinion it doesn't matter male or female).

Keep in mind that the sizes given in the caresheets are minimal sizes, not recommended sizes.
You will have an happier animal if you can give him more space, period.

From the resource section:
screen cage (length x width x height):

juveniles/sub-adults
: 16x16x30" (40x40x76cm)
adult female minimum: 18x18x36" (45x45x90cm)
adult male minimum: 24x24x48" (60x60x120cm)

Onviously when they get bigger your gonna need a bigger cage but fir right now, since you getting a juvenile veiled, the 18x18x36 is good enough...

I agree with everything said above. It makes way more sense to me to start out with the big boy/girl cage. Also, if you're concerned about spending another $100, you're in for a world of trouble when your chameleon needs to go to the vet. It is your responsibility to provide the appropriate conditions for your chameleon and if $100 is a deal breaker for you, I would consider looking into a different species of reptile whose care requirements are less stringent...

Thank you everyone for your replies, I am kind of short on money since I had to pay my mom back for something I bought. I am finding work to get money and will probably not get a chameleon until I know I can afford and care for everything.
