I got my chameleon two weeks ago, and everytime I feed her I see her ribs. I feed her eight nickle sized crickets a day, but I am wondering if there is any type of bug to help put a little weight on her.?

sure, anything gut crickets and mealworms! butterworms are fatty, but thats kind of like saying that if a kid looks skinny you should load it up on candy and cake! try roaches, they're great! way more well balanced nutrition!

waxworms are good treats.
hornworms are great for hydration, and can help with fattening them up.

you can see the outline of their ribs sometimes. That does not necessarily mean they are under weight. Why don't you post a pic so we can see.

Post a pic! It may not be to skinny. Dont feed it fat. Feed it protien, and make sure it gets lots of exercise!

I can't post any pictures right now....I'm not home.

And when she's just walking and sitting down you can't see her ribs but when she stretches to like catch a cricket you can see all her tiny ribs and the outline of her spine. Like I said, I just got her and she has a healthy appetite. She just....didn't come from a home that knew a lot.

How would I exercise her.?

LOL, well im actually serious about that. I consider lots of climbing exercise, as well as having MANY size things to grip. That way all of the muscles in there feets, arms and legs get attention. But it is normal to see some ribs. You want a toned cham, not a fat cham:D If shes eating normal shes probably fine. If shes eating normal and VERY skinny, it COULD be that parasites are usurping her nutrients. Just sayin, thats a possibility. Post a pic when you can. Im going to search for any previous pics you may have posted...

In all the pictures I find she looks good. She has a "lanky" look to her, but thats just genetics;) Still post a pic when you can though, that way you know...

She has tons of things to climb on and i plan on getting more sticks from outside and cleaning them so I can put them in there. She's eating really good now, but the owner before me fed her like four penny sized crickets today. And I've only had her for two weeks so I know its not me not feeding her enough. I'll be home soon to post pics. It's mainly when she stretches to reach something. Not really when shes walking. I'm ordering butterworms, dubia roaches, and silk worms for her next week. :)

Ehh she sounds fine;) Good deal! Dubias are great! When I switched from crickets to dubia and some crickets, I actually saw a difference in the appearance of my cham. She looked "healthier". Dubias are SO much less hassle too. I love them(yes I love a roach)I havnt tried the silk worms, but plan on it soon.

What do you feed the silk worms.? I'm getting bug burger for the roaches and keeping them in the tank.Tini actually came in. Do you recommend any other type of feeder.?

I havnt tried silks yet, but they eat mulberry. You can also order a food for them I believe. Horn worms are a good treat, but they grow to big to quick, and there more expensive. Mantids are awsome! But they eat live insects, so you have to keep feeders for your feeders:p They can be caught wild though. I feed moths somtimes. Maybe two terestrial isopods(rolly polly) a year or so.

I would definitely go for a Butterworm, Hornworm, and/or silkworm enriched diet. Honestly, if you vary up the diet with multiple insects, it almost doesn't matter what you feed them IMO, they will get to a healthy weight. However, don't allow females to overeat, as they tend to do a lot more than males.

Basically the best diet is a varied diet. If you feed 3-4 separate insects to your reptiles, you're following a good diet regimen. Don't feed mealworms or waxworms too often though.
