sleep patterns

i was wondering what time your chams go to sleep or make their way to the favourite sleeping place.
my lights go out at 7pm but she makes her way there at about 6 ish, maybe she likes to get settled first.

I don't know how, but they usually set up with the natural light. That, even when they don't have direct access to it!

Now going to bed 1hour before the sun is gone is normal, especially when the seasons are changing! :)

i think thats quite normal. My carmie goes to her sleep spot about 45 min to an hour before her lights go out. I used to have a 9 to 9 cycle but switched it to 8 to 8 because i noticed she was up earlier and going to her sleep spot up to 2 hours early and sometimes even falling asleep with her lights still on.

Likewise. I've always observed 1) closer fidelity to what the sun's doing than to what the indoor lights are doing (even though we don't have very good window, and I would think the sun's influence would be minimal) and 2) heading for bed before light's out (sun and/or indoor). In our Michigan winters, when it's dark by 5, the chameleon may well have settled down for the night by 3:30. I've observed this with two animals, a panther and a Jackson's.
My interpretation, for what it's worth, is that they head for bed early to be sure of making it before it gets dark. Chameleons have effectively no night vision (they have a very high density of cones, the color sensing cells of the eye, but no rods, which are the low-light cells and predominate in nocturnal animals like cats), and they want to be sure of getting home in plenty of time. But that's just speculation.

my panther does this, its funny when the suns beaming through the window i shut the blind (depending on were im sat) he stares at me asif to say where the hell has my light gone and goes and settles in for the night, so i had to move the cage so hes not in veiw of the window. works fine so far
