What is everyone chameleon sleeping time in winter? My light is on 6 am to 6:30 pm but he always go to bed around 3 pm. Is it normal?

Where is your enclosure located and if the lights are on it should not be going to sleep as far as my research is concerned but others might say different.

“By the book” it says 8-12 hours with a light on approximately from what I’ve gathered. But if they see it’s dark everywhere else they will go to sleep even with the light on at times.

My lights are on from 8 am to 8 pm and I find my panther tends to start to “settle in” to his favorite sleeping spot right around 6:30-7 now that it is getting colder and darker earlier!

I put him in the kitchen and have windows opposite of his cage. So he can see the light outside of the house. It is getting dark around 4 ish. I am not sure it is the case or not

my 6 months old veiled cham goes to sleep around 6.00/6.30 pm during winter. i have the cage around 10ft away from my balcony door in my bedroom, so let me understand a thing, can they actually recognize if it's day or night by looking out of the window even if the spot light and uvb are still turned on? lol

here it was raining until 2 hours ago, he just went to sleep now, i can see him hiding his head under the pothos leaves :p i suppose it's normal during winter, even if lights are turned on they go to sleep because i assume they feel tired at a certain time of the day.

PS(i'm from italy, it's 6.27pm right now)

I was talking to the OP but going to their sleeping spot early and hanging out is perfectly normal. Sleeping with eyes fully closed out cold during the day is not normal and would be a good reason to double check your cage temperatures and lighting. Street lighting and other light sources may be disrupting his proper night time sleep and should be investigated.
@jarvis1 In your case 7pm is not unusual.
