Sleeping when free roaming

Ever since Chloe started free roaming outside of her cage, she always falls asleep once she seems to get settled. I'm wondering if they go to sleep if they get cold, or if she's really just happy where she is. Most days I leave for work early morning, her lights go on around 6:30am and I turn them off around 7-8pm, but she's always out of her cage before this time now.

Is she truly sleeping? Is she in an area where she may be basking? They will close their eyes while basking sometimes, but other than that, a chameleons falling asleep during the day can be a precursor to illness.

She is not basking. This is when she has been out of her cage roaming a while(after 8pm) then seems to settle somewhere and closes her eyes

My goal is to eventual move this thing out on my balcony so she can sit, climb, whatever while getting some natural sun

If it is that late, that is normal! She is just bedding down for the night.
Ok, that makes me feel better, that's what I was thinking. She usually comes out by 4-5pm, roams and goes wherever she wants, then settles in. Weekends are better, she has hours on Saturday and Sunday to roam the house....

my cham always sleeps about 30mins before lights out and wakes up before lights on...
I love watching him when he sleeps.

Don't leave her on the balcony unless caged securely. There are lots of predators--hawks, seagulls, crows, ravens, cats... The list is endless, and that is only the daytime predators.
