Sleepy chameleon

my chameleon Osiris, an almost 2-year-old panther chameleon has been doing this weird thing, whenever my mom or I pull him out and hold him close to our bodies or even kiss him he'll close his eyes and sleep, now I don't know if this is okay or not considering he gets the right amount of sleep and has a mister going off every hour, he also has been on a kind of hunger strike, he doesn't eat as much as he used to, maybe 1 or 2 crickets a day, i dont have any current pictues but when i get one ill post it

He's not closing his eyes to sleep. He's closing his eyes out of stress. Chameleons close their eyes and shut down to block out the source of extreme stress. Stop cuddling him and kissing him, they're not that kind of pet and it's terrifying to them. Plus you can get sick by kissing them, salmonella.

You should get a bearded dragon if you want to cuddle with a reptile. Chameleons are display animals.

He is a male panther, hes a year and 8 months, have had him for 5 months, we handle him a lot and not nessecarly out of wanting to but he comes to us and climbs up, he never displays any kind of discomfort by puffing up or chuffing, he doesnt drink from the misting system ever so we use a big leaf and a manual mister to create a stream/dropper, he wont drink water any other way, he feces are not watery or diahria like, there is this orange popcorn like stuff but going through google most pictures show the same thing. hes got a 4 foot high 2 foot wife mesh cage thats got thick plastic around it to keep some of the humidity in, he has 3 light bulbs, a 100watt heat, a uvb/uva and then a normal heatless light bulb, he also has a ceramic heatbulb as my room gets a little cold at night, I am not using any live plants but I do own a pothos but I am kind of scared of using it, the cage is in my room on the seconf floor of my house, he isnt near any fans but is near a window facing a tree. he has also lost a bit of his appetite

His urates are orange? He might be dehydrated. Please post pictures. I think you are over handling him, which is stressing him out, so he might want to eat, but there is no way to tell if you don't post a picture and fill out the ask for help form.

I have to agree with @Nursemaia ...it's likely stress...and that's not good.
Agree with the kissing not being good either.
The hunger strike may be a part of the stress too.

You swid..."we handle him a lot and not nessecarly out of wanting to but he comes to us and climbs up"...is he free ranging?

You said..."he doesnt drink from the misting system ever so we use a big leaf and a manual mister to create a stream/dropper, he wont drink water any other way"....i would set up a dripper.

You said..."hes got a 4 foot high 2 foot wife mesh cage thats got thick plastic around it to keep some of the humidity in"...how may sides is the plastic on?

You said..."he has 3 light bulbs, a 100watt heat, a uvb/uva and then a normal heatless light bulb"...what brand/type is the UVB light?
What's the basking temperature? Temperatures elsewhere in the cage?

You said..."I am not using any live plants but I do own a pothos but I am kind of scared of using it"...the pothos is safe to use. Live plants are recommended over fake ones.

You said..."the cage is in my room on the seconf floor of my house, he isnt near any fans but is near a window"...where do you live?

What SPECIFIC supplements do you use and how often for each? What do you feed/gutload insects with SPECIFICALLY?

Chameleons benefit from a degree drop at night and shouldn't have any lights on at night, its really bad for them. Unless the temperature in your room gets below 50-60 degrees then he doesn't need a heat source especially a heat bulb that emits light, even the blue or red ones.
