Smaller bugs vs larger bugs?

I'm just trying to understand something. I see a lot of people say a few smaller bugs is better than 1 larger bug, for example roaches. I'm not disagreeing just wondering why? Aside from choking risk (like if the bug is larger than the chams head) wouldn't a larger, but reasonably sized roach or cricket have more meat and less exoskeleton than feeding a bunch of small ones? Just interested in hearing what you guys might have to say about this.

Michi much prefers to eat large winged dubia over crickets. And he won't touch the un-winged dubia.

Based on that, and the fact that they're a better value and so much easier to keep and maintain, I'll stick with the big bugs.
