I bought my baby cham from a woman who had her in a 20 gallon tank, which came with it. It has the heating pad and everything in it, and its seems like a waster for nothing to be in it. So whats a good idea of a reptile to put in it.? Someone said a pygmy cham, but I don't even know where to get one of those.

The bearded dragon will eventually need either a 40 gallon or a 55 gallon tank to be housed in. It would work great for a pair of leopard geckos though.

I prefer not to buy from pet stores, just because they usually aren't very healthy animals. But if your pet store is a good reputable pet store than you should. If not order from a breeder online.

Do you have any suggestions if I were to buy one.?
The beardie probably won't work, my mom wants to put a turtle in our 40 gallon once we get a bigger tank for our fish...

you could put a trio of brevs (two females one male). havent seen any for sale at all lately but its worth the wait for them. very cute. :)

I would not put two leo's together. It doesnt matter two females, male and female, they can be fine for the longest time and then BAMMM you will walk into a missing foot, leg, tail or even a dead leo. Been here and done that many times..you will be playin with fire.

A leopard gecko would be a great lizard for a 20 gallon with a under tank heater. Bearded dragons do not need a UTH.

a pygmy chameleon. thats one of the more common species. i have a pygmy spectrum :) (R.Spectrum) if i were you id go for brevs tho also known as bearded pygmy chams :D

My girlfriend just got a pair of silver sand skinks.

They are VERY cool. You don't see them too much, but when you do they are fun to watch. They DESTROY crickets....they'll kill 5 of them before even eating one, they are like little gladiators.

Kind of a unique species, lives under the sand, doesn't need much attention to water or humidity...just some sand, small shallow water dish, and food.

Otherwise, for a 20gal, your could get a sand boa, leopard geckos, fat tails, some type of desert agama, spider foot geckos, namibian sand gecko, Nephrurus levii, :)

I've been told by a majority of breeders that females do the best when together. Mine wasn't eating or drinking for the longest time and we got her a buddy and she started to get back up to health almost immediately. As long as there are enough hides for them so that they can be alone when they want to theyll be fine.

Have you considered crested geckos? They are so cute and sweet and VERY low maintenance. No lights needed at all. Their diet is 90% Crested Gecko Diet with maybe a small cricket here and there, but the crickets are not necessary.

OMG crested geckos! they're awesome! they don't need heat or light, just a little bit of humidity and powdered food you can store in the fridge. you only feed them every 2-3 days! it's like a cakewalk after keeping chams!!!!!!
