After I attended the SBCK meeting, I think EVERYONE needs one bad. Just cuz your UVB Light turns on it could still be a dud right outta the box! I just wish they were more accessible (price-wise anyway) to Cham keepers. Thanks Gary for helping us keep our critters happy and healthy!
 
I just got my meter. I have to say that this was the best and easiest group buy that I have been a part of. Kudus to Gary!!!!!

Glad you got your meter! Give all of us reports on how you use it so other can benefit.

I've been getting a lot emails. If there are enough people who have the money and are serious PM me. If there's enough to do a group buy I'll give it another go. The only rules are you have to actually have the money and be willing to send it to me. :D I had to chase so many people down and many cancelled at the last minute when they realized they couldn't afford it.

Unfortunately getting these to Canada has turned into a nightmare so no Canadian inquiries. Sorry. Sadly the same goes for any moderator of the UVB forum.
 
I'm jealous of you all that got one :( Wish I could afford one would love to see if my UVB bulbs are working correctly

Sancho. Bring your bulbs and a lamp to the next meeting and I'll bring my meter. Actually I'll be delivering a few to members at the meeting so they'll be enough for you to borrow and check your lamps.

The short form is to point it at the light source from where ever you Cham basks under it. It should be anywhere from 25-40 on the meter.

For bulbs hold it 6" from the bulb and just keep a note of the number. You'll be able to chart the decay. If your guy is suddenly getting below 25 at basking it is time to change the bulb.

Also use the meter to adjust his/her environment so they can get UVB from other areas aside from direct basking.
