I posted that question on the general discussion and came to the conclusion he's probably somewhere around 9 months. I got him from petsmart while just browsing the store. I hate the situation behind how I ended up with him, but I do adore him and would do it over again.

don't feel to bad, you probably got him when he was still in decent health from petsmart. so you saved them but at the same time supporeted them getting another one. and probably over payed =p, but does that really matter when you love an animal!.

I love the guy and yeah he probably wouldn't be in very good condition if I left him there - I feel bad for the one I did leave. They had them in a shoe box sized glass aquarium, two males in the same cage. The younger, smaller had messed up horns so I took the one with the nice pretty horns

I do intend on writing the manager at the store a nice long letter explaining the poor conditions they had the animal in. I didn't realize it at the time. I, also, don't think they intend to treat them bad the people there are just ignorant about them.
