Help please! My chameleon is acting odd

Hi! I have a veiled chameleon. He's not too old I'd say I've had him for about a year and when we got him he was a few months old. We recently bought him a new cage, but we could not afford a chameleon cage so we bought a bird cage and set it up just like a chameleon's cage would look like. He stays there all day and in the mornings and night he sleeps in his ExoTerra cage that is a glass cage. So recently here's the problem. He's not been eating at his normal time lately. He still eats but not as much as he used to. :( We thought it was dehydration of constipation so we now are giving him water through a straw. Today, though we found this in his butt. There's a picture for you to see. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? How can I resolve this? I'm really worried about my best friend. :(

looks like a sperm plug starting. its normal
and if hes an adult, he wont eat as much. thats normal as well.

He's about 7 - 8 inches long without the tail. We got him a year back and he was about, I'm guessing here, 4 - 5 inches long without the tail. Petsmart never told us how old he was. Could it still be normal if he doesn't eat at his regular time? I mean he still eats but not at the time we usually give him his crickets.

Your cham might be stressing out from being moved into different enclosures before and after bedtime. I'm not so sure thats a great idea but I've never tried it. If your cham is eating then I'm sure nothings wrong. Its not abnormal for a cham to eat @ different times a day - so I'd say theres nothing wrong. If that is a sperm plug, then expect to see some blood drops in your cage somewhere after it passes.
