My cham his name is Weedie is about 6 or 7 months old. I've had him for about 5months now. His eye is hurt, idk how it happen. He had is eye closed for a day and the next day is was swollen almost shut. and i think its getting worse. I took him to the vet and she couldn't get his eye open and she thinks he injured it many scratched it. I attached a picture of him and his enclosure. the bump on his eye of soft and its very swollen. and he is not eating. he has 100 watt day bulb and a UV bulb now. His Basking light broke about a week and 1/2 ago. It might be a little to cold in him for without the basking light could that be the part of the problem?

Check for a sinus infection you should bring him to the vet sometimes respiratory issues or a sinus infection can cause eye issues. How is the ventilation in your enclosure?

Your vet didn't do anything for him? I would suggest getting another vet one with reptile experience. And while they are at it ask them to look at those bumps on his side. If you have a 100watt daylight bulb that should be putting off plenty enough heat.

what bumps those are his bones. he has not eating his food in two days. i am really getting nervous. the vet gave me Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfate, and Bacitracin Zinc Ointment to put on his eye twice a day. but i dont think its helping

Those bumps were the first thing I realised on the pictures... High chance that I'm not right on this but the placement is a little odd to me to be his bones, also it sticks out so much but his ribs don't...

Please someone prove me wrong but I still see the bumps on the second picture... I hope it's only my eyes but still

I'd go to a different vet and get a second opinion, one with reputable reptile experience. I hope your baby gets better!

Is it just the one eye, or is it both? What strength and brand of UVB light are you using? Did his eye issue just start happening after you starting using the new UVB bulb?

Also, do you use Calcium without D3, calcium with D3 and a vitamin powder on his food? (calcium without D3 every day, calcium with D3 2x's a month, vitamin 2x's a month)

What SPECIFIC supplements do you use and how often for each? I'm particularly interested in the forms of vitamin A and D3.
What do you specifically feed/gutload the insects with?

I use Reptivite with D3 every week or so. I feed him crickets and meal worms (10-14 everyday). And occasionally ill feed him strawberrys and collard greens (maybe once every other week or so). but he hasn't eating in two days. Ive tired hand feeding him multiple times he won't take it.

Its only one eye. I have its a zoo med UV light bulb idk the strength. Its no a new bulb i used it for a couple of weeks and then i brought him a red basking bulb. which recently went out.

You can use a regular house light bulb, red bulb is too fancy for him,and if i were you,I will fire that Vet kick rock, and find another vet with chameleon experience specialist to get those eyes check again.

Is that sand you are using for a substreight? He might have got some in his eye. When you get him healthy you are going to want to get some more foliage, and vines for him to move around for thermoregulation purposes. If that is sand I would definitely get rid of it, and if you are going to use a substreight you should cover it with something like baby tears, or river stone large enough that your cham can't eat it. I would also get rid of the water dish chameleons don't have no use for them they don't drink standing water they normally poop in it. He doesn't really need that hammock either he isn't like a bearded dragon his nails will likely get stuck in it. he don't need that red bulb at night or anytime for that matter, and if you don't have a UVB bulb you will need to get that as well. You need to get calcium without d3, and a multivitamin as well. Here is a link to the care sheet read it and make corrections to keep you cham happy and healthy. Good luck I hope he gets better. at.https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/veiled/

Please consider getting a vet that has experience in reptiles your little guy needs to be looked at by someone qualified.

Where are you located we can help you find a reputable chameleon vet near you to get a second opinion. And as Brownie stated please read the care sheets and adjust accordingly. If you go to the enclosure thread you will see many amazing cages to give you ideas on how to improve your aswell once your Cham gets better
