Glad that the second vet was far more on target.
Unfortunately, your sad story is all too common.
Harmful care advice from sellers whom you have every right to expect to know better.
Your cham is so very fortunate to have such a caring person taking care of her It's a good thing you also found chameleonforums, as there are many more chameleon-knowledgeable people here than anywhere else that I know of.
She should have her own cage to live in, separate from the male---which they probably also didn't know.
This link is for the enclosures cage in the chameleon resources section of the forum and should be useful for you:

It is very important to know that there are 2 very different types of calcium.
The more frequently used calcium does not contain any vitamin D3 (and neither calcium should contain any phosphorus).
Calcium with vitamin D3 should only be used once every other week for Veiled chameleons.
More on healthful feeding and nutrition here:
https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/food/
A good multivitamin powder is also used 1x every other week
In case you haven't seen the chameleon resources section of the forum, here is some excellent info about Veileds for you:

I hope she recovers nicely and that you will keep updating us, as well as asking any questions that you need answered.
