I believe some of the funding is from NASA with an eye toward creating a space suit astronauts can wear for an emergency evacuation from super high altitude.

My son did a parachute jump a couple of months back. Just a normal one but the highest altitude you are allowed to jump from in the UK. At least he had some idea on how Felix was feeling at that moment when he stepped out of the capsule!

I would do it, the preparation to the jump would freak me out (everything that can go wrong being tested and discussed) but given the opportunity I'd take the leap.
