spit up saliva??

my 7 month old chameleon just spit up something that looks like clear saliva after he started drinking.....what is it?

It would be a good idea to fill out the ask for help form in the health section and post some pictures of your chameleon.

how are you administering water?
how frequent are you giving water?

Sounds like he was either.
A. Super thirsty and over drank.
B. Water was being either sprayed directly in the mouth, syringed, administered and was given to much.

Chameleons dont just spit up after a drinking session. You need to re evaluate the true reason behind this and find a solution to solve it.

I have a similar problem my cham open his mouth and spit then went back to drinking water like nothing happened

It is an indication you are in deep crap, most likely. Sorry I'm blunt.

Pictures of the animal are helpful, as well as filling out the help form. There are more experts here on these forums than anywhere else in the world but without that form filled out (it was designed well by experts) most won't wont take a stab in the dark for you.

IMHO, when a cham drinks too much too fast, they can overfill their stomach. They don't have a sphincter muscle at the base of the esophagus to hold back stomach contents if it gets too full and the cham moves around, they might spit some water back up again. To me, if your cham is so thirsty that it drinks this desperately, you need to check your cage humidity level and how often you are offering water.

Wow, obviously there was something more serious going on here. We can't even guess without more information about your cham. Sorry he's gone!
