Staring up

@slewithe amount of snark coming from you is unbelievable. I don't normally comment on these posts because I don't claim to know everything and don't feel I can be helpful. However that being said I really feel that you need to not be so nasty to these folks that are only trying to help you. Like @Lennoncham Said why are you asking for help if you refuse the advice? Allow me to attach a pic of my setup when I first set it up and it still did not have enough coverage in it. Im sorry I don't mean to be rude but man that is some attitude you got there.

Is that a feeding tray? If so thats pretty awesome! Where did you get that?

There's a website full throttle feeders they sell some that attach with a magnet this one attaches with push pins which I broke the frame on it pushing too hard. The magnet one is probably better.

Thanks ill have to check them out! I've been looking for one so my roaches can climb the screen and Simon can get them, so I don't have to tong feed him/her forever haha.

Its called the shooting gallery, you can get it at tkchameleons.com and they come in 2 sizes. It is nice cause you can see the bugs. The one on fullthrottlefeeders.com is nice because it is magnetic, but you cant see the feeders if you connect it to the door.[/QUOTE]

I came for advice not how you think his set up is wrong in your eyes. That I don't care about. Why he's staring at his light. Yes that was all useful information for me and I will look into either getting ready for slugs or possibility of babies. Or worst case scenario his respitory infection. Just because you t h ink you are an expert on cage set up doesn't mean you are nor can you come and see the cage and see how much shade he actually has. Again thank you for your concern, if you want better pics of it let me know ill get every angle for you and you can measure his shade. If that'll help you sleep at night. ?

I have never once claimed to be an expert in even one aspect of chameleon keeping.

I was not talking about my advice. I was talking about how jacksjill gave up a bunch of her time to give you advice and you just completely ignored it all. And continue to ignore it by calling your female a male. just because you wish it so it isnt going to change her gender.

I don’t take kindly to people wasting my friends time and the being rude about the advice given.

yes give me all the angles of your empty enclosure. Oh wait there is shady spots due to your poor Lighting. Makes sense now.

Thank you! I was having a major brain fart of where I had gotten it lol. It is nice the crickets and roaches stay right there. Some chams won't eat put of them but mine is a literal pig and will eat whatever wherever. He's only leary of my hand right now but I could tell he really wanted that cricket but didn't quite trust me enough to take it off my hand.
@slewi wouldn't stress over tongue feeding too much they can hunt very well. Mine leaves none behind when I just dump them.

If it turns out he is a she then I will call Simon she. Until then he was sold to me as a male so a male he shale be. And from most my readings males usually have the horns not females. Again if that comes to change, okay. But until then simon is male. Also his lighting is perfect. He has 3 lights one light bar, a double heat/ubv and an extra heat right now since its may and still snowing. ?

With crickets I just let them free roam but the roaches seem to hide under the log or in the moss. ?.

I definitely put the roaches in the feeder. I can't stand the idea of them getting out in the house. No matter where I put them he finds them.

Thats my wife, she is scared they will get out and breed. Lol. But the feeder would make it so much better. Again thank you!

@slewis8128 I’m afraid if your uvb is the coil bulb, it is far from perfect. In order to provide any useful level of uvb, your cham would have to be like within 3” of it. The linear T5 is the way to go. I’m not looking to argue, but your enclosure does leave much to be improved upon. Empty space is wasted space. All chameleons need some cover to hide if they so choose. The more little roads you create for it to travel, the better.

I do have him pretty close to the bulb, I could move him closer if need be (its at like 3 and some change). But up until now he seemed to be perfect. Nice colors, friendly as in reaching for us to come out. But I can adjust his heating perch! I'll look into more roads for him, plenty of nature around for sticks!

I would say she's keeping her head up because she's so full of babies that it's compressing her organs and she needs to to breath....just my opinion.
I guess out of the options is rather simon turn out to be female than have a respitory infectiom.

So you still don't think it's a female? :(
I'm not sure. Haha I've been under the impression for months Simon was a male. All the articles I've read and videos I've watch say males have horns and females don't. Easy to sex them. Then this is dropped on me. Haha.

Some female jacksons do have horns...but they aren't usually as long as males horns are. The tail looks female to me to....but I haven't kept many jacksons over the years except for dwarf ones.

The tail? How do can you tell by that??

Also I got simon 4 months ago. Could this be something else? Like some reptiles lay false eggs right?
