Sticks from outside

Hey is it safe to use some sticks that where of a bush/tree I cut down. They are all dry

300 degrees for 15 min should kill anything they might have on them -

I have never baked a single stick. You can wash them with soapy water if you want. If you know they have not been sprayed with pesticides and you cannot see any type of sap or bug infestation then I don't think you have to go crazy. JMO

Same as what Carol said. Just make sure there is no chance that there has been pesticide sprayed on them and they will be fine.

If it was possible sprayed years ago would it be fine?

I just spray down with soap and water and let dry in the sun.

I am sure they would be fine it were years ago. It doubt it could last that long. I have never heard of pesticide lasting that long, but if you wanna be on the safe side just scrub with a brush and some soapy water.

I've also just rinsed mine off and put them straight in my cages. I also only use branches that I cut down fresh from the tree, since branches that have died and have fallen to the ground tend to be brittle, bug-infested, or otherwise compromised. Live ones tend to hold up much better much longer.
