Hey all. My male veiled has been acting unusual the past week. Every time I open his cage door to clean or to feed him, he comes running to the door and climbs out onto me. Every time! If I'm out of his reach, he will anchor himself to a branch and reach out to grab me. He then just climbs up to my shoulder or head and sits. Has anyone else experienced this? I just added a male Nosy Be 2 weeks ago. their cages are right next to each other but there is a divider between them so they can't see one other. Could he sense another cham? He is not showing any "stress" colors and is still eating and drinking fine.
Once my male panther hit about 4.5 months and started getting a lot bigger with way more color I have had a hard time keeping him in now. At first if I was feeding him I had zero problem leaving the door open whIle I go to the other room for something. Then one day I do as usual and come back to find him half way across the livingroom window scaling the blinds. I freaked. Now, if I don't want him out exploring at the moment I have to be very fast and sneaky with the cage door because he will literally make a run for it. Usually he doesn't go far. Just sits on top of the cage door and watches what's going on below until i finally come up and offer him a haND which he always gladly accepts. I think he's just more comfortable with me and his surroundings now. He also is ready for his big boy forever home which I don't have just yet. I know he needs more space which is a big reason for his escapes I think. I don't know about them sensing each other though. I would assume they could even if they can't see each other but that might not be the reason for his escapes.
