Stressed Nosybe when taken outside?

My nosybe seems calm and safe when I pick him up to go outside, but once the sun hits him or I put him on one of the plants outside, he puffs up. I was curious on why he might do that? I put it in the 'health clinic' forum bc I thought he might be stressed for some reason idk why though. EDIT: in my avatar pic, thats the plant I usually put him on and how he looks. he moves around normally, but like I said he's fine with me picking him up

Is that a philodendron you're putting him in? Mind taking a pic of the whole plant please?

The reason I asked, if I put my panthers in a dead part of the maple the males will some times puff up a bit and pull close to the branch at the same time when they see what ever it is they see, usually a stray cat. If they are in the areas that aren't dead with heavy leaf coverage I don't see this behavior as much. Instead they tuck in tight to the branch barely showing at all under the leaf coverage. In either area of the tree if they keep an eye pointed up and pull tight to the tree I know for sure they see a bird even if I'm not and then it's time to go in.
