ok now i'm curious...you mentioned a plant bulb? is this different from the uvb and a heat bulb? I have a 5.0 uvb bulb and a 75 watt heat bulb for my cham. and his plant seems to be losing a bunch of leaves lately...is there a different bulb that will increase it's growth?

Im pretty sure the spectrum on all bulbs degrade over time (as seen in UV bulbs and All aquarium bulbs)-- so as long as the spectrum doesnt matter to you, then it should be fine.
otherwise, change it when things start wilting!
I usually replace them at the same time...or plant one alil while after..
We all know that our UVB bulbs need replacing after 6-12 months, depending on bulb, BUT... has anyone ever inquired if plant bulbs need replacing? For example, will a 6500k bulb not be effective after that same time period?
Stupid question? Maybe, but the people want to know!
