Sunday pictures of Oz

Hi All,

It's been a long time since I have uploaded pictures of my guy "Oz", and like most people on this forum the weather this weekend was ideal to get outside. He will be 10 months old at the end of this month and this was his first time outside. I have only held him 3 times before so he was fired up and I'm sure that pointing a camera at him didn't help.

Wow, amazing colors on that one. Is that a High orange? I have a High yellow I can only hope makes nice colors like that.

Thanks guys. In terms of his morph or bloodlines I can tell you that I bought him from PardalisGirl when he was 4 months old. His sire is Otto and I beleive the female was a wild caught. I believe that Juilrs has one of Oz sisters.

Oz is a beauty

Oz is turning out to be a real macho looking dude. His Dad (Royden's Otto) could be very fiesty too. The Mom was a wild caught. I've still got a lot of Oz's siblings at my house. The males are all turning out to be high yellow with great patterns. The females are huge. I'm going to be selling them at the Seattle show this Saturday at the Gesang's booth (Chameleon's Northwest). I've enjoyed them so much I've just let them stay with me. I'm keeping some for myself of course! You've done an excellent job with Oz Justin. He looks very healthy! Will he zap things from your fingers yet? Even the ones who don't like to be handled will usually eventually be unable to resist a hand fed treat

No, he won't eat from me. He is actually very timid, but on the rare occasions that I have tried to hold him, for cage cleaning purposes he fires up and hisses at me, even lunging at my hand. I'm scared of him bitting me so I used a branch and a glove on my other hand. Once I had the glove on he stopped hissing and started to co operate.

The only times he will eat in front of me is if I put hornworms in his cage. He will not hesitate to hunt them down even if he knows I'm watching him. Otherwise he will wait until I've left the room to eat any of his other feeders. I have blue bottle fly larvae in transit to me at the moment so hopefully by next week I can see how much he will enjoy hunting them down.

But overall Catherine he is a great guy, I'm so glad that I have him.

Jrtader your veiled has some very impressive colors and I can see you have been a great owner.

pardalisgirl, I can only hope my high yellows look that good at maturity and make offspring like that! BTW whats the outlook on Nosy Mitsios in the near future? I saw pictures of yours and am so jealous.

Thanks tkilgour. If I had the money I'd definitely get a Mitisio from you Catherine. Maybe somewhere down the line when I feel ready for cham number 2.

He's a very handsome veiled. So nice to see Otto's son. Try opening his door and put a large plant or tree in front of it and watch from a distance and see if he'll come out. They are much friendlier out of the cage.
