Super worms

Quick question is it okay to give my 4 month veiled super worms everyday ??? He loves them but i dunno if everyday its ok ?

It's better to switch things up and offer a day's feeding of supers, a day's feeding of something else, and so forth. Supers 1 or 2 feedings per week is usually OK. Better daily feeders that are readily available are crickets and/or roaches.

It seems like sometimes chameleons get hooked on supers, refuse other feeders and then eventually refuse even supers so refusing food altogether.

So it is better to go with 1x or 2x per week probably.

Ooh ok yea you know i noticed that. Whenever i give him crickets and worms at the same time he'll eat the worms first and not pay attention to the crickets until a whileeee after:mad:

It can cause a majority of problems including impaction. I reccomend only
Feeding worms twice per week at max.
Crickets should be a stable diet.

Superworms have very little Chitin compared to meal worms. Ive never heard of a reptile dieing from being constipated from eating supers.

I offer superworms and crickets together every day and have never had an issue.

That's why I said better, not never.

Chams are individuals.

But you might be surprised how many times over the years I've met people who had a cham do what I described- start refusing anything but supers and then go off supers some time later and refuse everything and waste away.

From time to time it even pops up here on the the forums.

Also, most lizards fill up on favorites when available. Many will hold out if they know more favs are on the way next feeding or two and refuse other items, once they become picky. I see lots of picky eaters on the forums.

So, sounds like your doing fine with yours. That's good. But my comments are geared more to advice generally.

My guy gets one super or one butter hand feed in the am. Then I release about 8-12 crickets in his cage. He eats is worm then instantly gosr on the hunt. So far no problems. Howevere my guy will zap at anything that barely twitches.
