Superworm Bedding?

What is the best bedding to use for Superworms? I've had a few batches of 1000 superworms spoiled by grain mites and it's getting rather frustrating. Is there a simple way to keep the grain mites away? I have been using Bran Flakes for the bedding and carrot/potato/yam for moisture.

Any easy solution to rid of grain mites for good? Would grain mites be attracted to Flukers Orange Cube?

I would like to konw the same of keeping the mites away sorry man I don't know

They are a real pain in the butt at this time of year it seems. They've invaded my roach bin twice and my superworm bin twice in 2 months. I'm guessing it's the moisture but damn, I want to get rid of the mites for good. Seems the only thing not getting grain mites is the cricket bin.

Bran seems to be the best bedding. I use the green cubes for moisture and have not had any grain mites. I do not keep thousands of superworms, though, not more than 200.

If you divided them into hundreds, at least if one got infested, it wouldn't be the whole lot. You are not supposed to refrigerate superworms, but perhaps you should try keeping them as cool as allowable. (65F?)

How long do you take to go through a thousand superworms?
