Superworms and 5 inch male veiled chameleon

How many super worms would a baby chameleon eat to equal 10 crickets or whatever value of food they should have per day/week? Currently, I've seen my chameleon eat 1 superworm and then the next day eat like 3-4 crickets, then a super worm the next day. Does that sound about right for his size? I've only had him a week, so still learning. Also, having difficulty feeding him - best luck I've had is placing the live insects near him on a plant and backing away... I also have a bowl at the bottom of my cage with crickets in it, but I haven't seen him use it.

Thanks for your advice.

How big are the crickets and superworms? That doesn't sound like enough at all. Most chameleons his size will eat 12-22 crickets every day.

If you've only had him a week he may still be acclimating and still be stressed out. Try to minimize his stress and just continue to have food available. He should start feeding more aggressively as his confidence in his new surroundings increase and he develops a routine.
