Supplementation Questions

The calcium plus smells much more like something I'd want in my mouth. Other calciums smell.. sour/bitter and like medicine, yuck!

Hmm....Well...the thing is that he will eat a silkworm with any kind of my supplement though. I did get him to eat 2 large mealworms yesterday. I usually stay away from feeding those cause of the whole "hard shell" deal. Last thing i need is for him to get constipated! LOL!!

if he's mostly eating silkworms, a few mealworms would be GOOD to add. The chinton is kinda like fibre for use - you do WANT some.
Be sure to vary the gutload on those silkworms.

Ok...right now i just give them the silkworm food that you make from mulberry farms. What else should i be giving them?

Also...(totally different question) ..how do i discinfect branches to put in Percy's cage?

Options include dandelion leaves, grape vine leaves, thin shaved carrot, romaine, arugula, fresh alfalfa. Mulberry leaves are absoluately fine of course :) and the chow is okay. Just that if you're using silkworms as a staple, if you're not using a wide variety of feeders, its good to vary the gutload as much as possible. A balance of nutrients is important.

Bake, or boil, or blast with steam, or drench in peroxide....
or just rinse them off and dont worry too much about it.
