Swollen eye with scratch/burn

Thank you for your sweet thoughts.

Apparently Fred isn’t out of the woods yet like I thought. My vet sent me an email on Friday saying I should take him to the vet school in Fort Collins (which is a little over a 3-hour drive (and with gas prices…yikes). I have yet to hear back from the university, who I requested a Zoom meeting with first to make sure he has to go down there. Still waiting and his eye looks better, has full range of motion, he is moving around more, not so lethargic and eating and drinking. I am continuing the antibiotic eye drops until directed otherwise. I believe my vet wants me to take him to an expert to check his overall health.

The other issue here is that my apartment complex HAD TO exterminate my room so I took Fred and his rainforest canopy, crickets, the works, to my friends house for a week following and he got sick about two days after we came home. Does anyone think that could be the root of the problem as well?

What does this chameleon forum think? I greatly appreciate any thoughts, comments, advice…

Thank you all!

Im not sure but I think he looks better. I don’t think the extermination stuff can cause an eye or sinus infection but of course I’m not an expert. I would think that the chemicals they use to exterminate bugs could make him overall decline in health but you said you waited a week to bring him back home after they sprayed.

I think it looks better! A three hour drive is rough! Good luck! I just did Cassidy’s second dose of injection antibiotics. This time was easier! Cassidy’s eye is looking better too. For a while it seemed to it not be able to close all the way at night but it is now. I’ll update pics tomorrow!

Mid way through the eye drop treatment 2 doses of 12 of the injections. I think it’s looking better. Still different but better

So 14 days of eye/nostril drops 2-3x daily down. Still doing injection antibiotics last dose on 7/10. He is eating, pooping, peeing, and acting 100% fine. He seems to prefer an injection every three days vs daily multiple drops in his eyes and nostrils😂 anyhow wondering about what you all think so far. I have my top notch vet apt on July 18. Canceled the two week check with the medium level vet on July 6, (honestly because all they are going to do is look at him and I have more trust in the top notch vet anyhow) . He does not appear to be in crisis and has definitely improved. Honestly more than his eye I am wondering about the little blemishes by his eye… they’ve been there since the eye was noted and I’ve always wondered if that played a role in it. Pic 1is his good eye, and pic two is the one that had/has this issue.

Btw these pics are after his injection. He usually doesn’t look this defeated!

Just an update. Appointment with the preferred vet today. They agree with the second in regards to the nasal duct and treatment plan. This is his eye today (pissed I was close lol). He still has some swelling in the right roof of his mouth and has some abnormal formation by his right eye/start of middle horn. The vet says it is not swollen and abs doesn’t think it is liquid build up. Thinking that this may just be his new baseline like the blockage may have cause the area to form differently but not concerning. The vet gave me more injectable antibiotics to keep on hand if the swelling reoccurs.
