Has anyone ever seen this before, and is it something to worry about?

I got him privately and he a wild caught from a large greenhouse. Not sure if that is important or not. He seems to move around fine (although I do not see him move around much.) everything else seems to be OK with him. I have had him for a couple weeks.

Here is the rest of him . . .

Thanks in advance for any info/advice

I've got a female xanth that had a foot issue when I got her that looked almost identical. From what I've read it could be a few things- trauma from being caught/transported, calcium deficiency, or MBD. It may not ever go away completely (as with my female) but it could get a little better if you're supplementing properly and have him set up with the right lights, temp, and environment.

Mine doesn't even seem to notice what I call her "club foot" and is pretty active and healthy otherwise. She was kind of freaked out from her new home for a while but she got over it. I'm sure your boy will be alright.

Could be an infection from a small lesion as well. My female Xanth had that, and I treated it with diluted betadine, and all was well. But, to be sure, maybe a vet check is in order?

I guess I never thought about MBD in the foot. I hope that is not the case!

How did you treat with the betadine solution?

I believe I have him set up with the right lighting & habitat.

Thanks for the feedback

IMHO if its an infection it needs to be cleaned out properly and the chameleon will need to be put on antibiotics to ensure that the infection doesn't spread. It looks like part or all of the toenail is missing too. Any time I've seen an infecttion in the toe area, it won't go away if its not cleaned out and it will eventually spread.

I've never seen MBD do something like that to a foot.
