tail curling

Do chams curl their tail at times other than sleeping? I have never noticed it before, but Cy will sometimes do it in the middle of the day. I take it as just being relaxed? Any thoughts? I do not ever recall him doing it before this head/neurological problem.

thanks,

i see tail curling by my panther and veiled slightly at various times in the day, esp after a misting

i think that for the veiled at least it might be some sort of stability thing as he hunts

I mean the entire coiling - tight - as when sleeping. He is doing it when just resting. Stability makes sense since he is a bit "off" these days :(

ya, Littlefoot does that too. his is coiled up most of the time except when hes crawling around, hunting, etc.

He gets his first silkies today! hopefully he will enjoy them.

He is getting more and more territorial too, the first 2 weeks I had him he would come right up to me and climb on my hand, then he shedded and got very shy and since then, he gapes and hisses a lot and doesnt like me in his cage at all. Yesterday i had to take him out to clean the cage out and he hissed and acted like he was gonna snap at me! I had to get him to climb on a stick cuz he wouldnt let my hand near.

No, he's a single guy up here in the sticks of NH. The only females around are me, my cats a little blotchie lizard and my frog!

We have no idea what we are even dealing with at this point anyway, only in the first stages of trying least invasive treatments. He goes for re-evaluation this afternoon and 3rd antibiotic injection (maybe). As for breeding, he comes from some great bloodline (Kammer's Legolas and Screameleons Sub-Zero are his grandaddies) so might be nice to pass them along some day, but right now I just want to get him better.

Funny how I never noticed tail curling, but maybe it is b/c I am scrutinizing every behavior right now.
