He shouldn't fall asleep on your hand. This could be a subtle signal that he is feeling unsafe or over stressed. With my Jax, his stress signals were always very understated - but a reliable one was the color if his head. The brighter blue his head, the more upset he was. He didn't always pop his stripes but sometimes turned his prettiest green when upset. If he is "closing down" when you hold him, I would recommend giving him more space and handling him less.

If he's sleeping because it's bedtime - shame on you and let that poor baby snooze :)

He's a very nice looking Jax. Those horns are gorgeous.

Thanks for the info, I really don't handle him very often at all, I take him out and put him in his umbrella plant for a little while, I was getting ready to put him back into his cage, and decided to see if he would relax while I handled him. At first he showed his dark spots but they went away pretty soon to his normal green so I thought he was ok with relaxing in my hand but if you think he's sleeping because he was stressed, I'll be sure not to let him do it again, plus it was about an hour before I usually turn off his lights so thought he was just tired so I didn't keep him out very long

You have a very handsome boy there!!
My Jacksons, Triton, used to fall asleep on my hand all the time! He was almost 8 years old when he died of old age. Green was always good as far as he was concerned color wise and dark was bad. He was handled very frequently and he enjoyed the attention and interaction with his humans. Some chams like to be handled more then others and if your Cham is comfortable enough with you to fall asleep on your hand then that's fine. :)
