That's it.

I've been trying to be patient with my parents. Neither of them know anything about reptiles whatsoever. My mom researched something for a whole two hours, searching "reputable" sites, and came to the conclusion that an adult male would fit in a 18x18x24" glass terrarium.
They don't understand. I feed him 15 crickets a day. I make his water just right. Again, I've been trying to be patient with them, but OH MY GOD!!!
"He's a lizard, not a baby."
"You're stuffing him. The Petsmart guy said 5-10 crickets a day."
"Stop coddling him."
"I read for 2 hours straight, searching all the reputable sites, and all of them said that that cage is fine, EVEN FOR AN ADULT MALE."
You get the point. I am done. I know about 20x more than you do, but you are obviously an expert because you researched for 2 hours. Congrats.
I've explained to them over and over. I planned to get a Rudis. He would have been small, and that cage would have been fine. But my mom bought me Chiche. I can't give him back to PetSmart. They know less than I do!
All of this pent up frustration is driving me insane. Oh, listen to this:
"The site so used are by scientists. Of COURSE the owners would say to get a bigger cage...the scientists would know."
Can you help me with them? I'm probably just going to end up buying a 200 dollar Visa card and buying the cage, rainfall system, a few hundred crickets, and some tape that says "I researched on the Internet for 2 hours and became an expert."

This is what u need go big or go home

Yeah that's what I'm getting probably. I discovered however that Chiche is a female () and will probably just get the 3 ft tall

Your parents sound like the people who keep a veiled for 6 months and think they can tell you how to incubate parsonii eggs. (No offense)

If you are talking about an 18*18*24 Exo-Terra, I'm surprised people haven't jumped down your throat saying to get rid of it. Honestly, I would keep a female veiled in it through adulthood (depending on the specimen that is, every chameleon is different).

Please read through this article. Unfortunately, the owner of the site no longer frequents the forums, but he is an old moderator and his blog has helped many people (including myself when I was first getting into multiple veileds)\

Countless people told you this would happen. Given your age and all of course your parents hold the keys, literally. Hopefully when it does need a vet app (it will) they are willing to pay or see the reasoning you pay a few hundred bucks. Sorry to say I told you so...

She will be okay in that enclosure for now so give your parents some breathing room maybe they will come around before you will need it in 4 months or so. Just do your own research record it and show it to them in a non aggressive, pushy way. I'm sure they will see reason.
