Thank you for your response m8. Do you plan on mixing the gutloaders into one meal? Sounds like a nutritious idea :p

Haha

Heres another question i had and got MULTIPLE answers...I'm still clueless on gutloading.

You're suppose to use wet gutloads (Mixed veggies) and dry gutloads (Wheat bran, oat bran, cricket crack, etc) Allot of members stay away from processed cube stuff (Flukers, Etc.)Also you don't get anywhere NEAR the amount of nutrition in cubes than organic veggies.

This is my schedule/gutload for Dubias & Crickets

Wet Gutload - ORGANIC ONLY VEGGIES: (1st & 3rd WEEK OF THE MONTH)

- Apples
- Carrots
- Yams
- Cucumber
- Oranges w/peel
- Red Lettuce
- Collard Greens
- Mustard Greens
- Wheat Bran
- Oat Bran
- Bee Pollen (Optional, but it is in the famous "Cricket Crack" )
- Water

I just take small portions from each veggie, chop them up, and throw them in a blender. My crickets go nuts for the gutload and usually eat the bowl dry.

Storing is simple, i just use a small magic bullet type of blender and leave the gutload in the fridge for 3-4 days TOPS. The veggies may spoil and you don't want that in your cham/crickets. I usually store 100 large crickets tops so i give them about 2-3 tabel spoons full a day.

DRY Gutload: (2nd & FORTH WEEK OF THE MONTH)

I only use Cricket Crack for now, not too sure on others because Cricket Crack has tons of dry ingredients.

I never imagined going to the grocery store buying all these veggies for some CRICKETS & ROACHES... lol You'll slowly get the hang of it.

Hopefully i'm on the right track aswell, maybe another member can OK my instructions lol. But so far it's been working for me.

Dry bug burger (not mixed with water)
cricket crack
Dino fuel

All 3 from sponsors and diff makers. You could cycle them, say change it up monthly.

The bug burger is awesome. They can't get enough of it, and the energy difference in them he next day is unmistakable. I even throw it in with my superworms that have been living off nothing but a quarter size feeding of bug burger for months; talk about extra energy. I throw some of the orange Fluker's cubes in every now and then. Mainly because I still have a bunch from forever ago, and since they're basically water I feel like it helps. I've just started using the Dinofuel raptor edition, and it may be too soon to say/ my Ambilobe is still growing into his colors, but I honeslty think it's making a difference in the vibrancy of colors. I just roll some cut up potatoes in it. I want to try cricket crack some time in the future, but I'm liking the Dinofuel.

My crickets swarm the dino fuel... after proper venthilation and gutloading (with Dino Fuel and fresh greens) i went from losing 20% of my crickets down to almost none lost. I have 3000 crickets at the moment and I've lost maybe 20 of them this month.

LOVE the dino fuel. I'll have to check out the bug burger too =D

I mix my BB and DF together. I use it both wet and dry. Great results. :)

MAN!!! you guys are making me want to get some Bug Burger and DinoFuel lol. I just got some cricket crack, so far so good. Maybe next week i'll make an order of those 2 things.

There are two basic parts to gut loading.1st: keep a dry high calicum dry cricket food in all the time. I make my own. There are many recpies out there mine is sorta like cricket crack.2nd: EVERY DAY they get fresh vegies today its spinach and carrots Tommorow its fresh yams and collard greens . twice a week i dust some orange with dynofuel. Look for vegies high in vit A with high moisture content There are lots of vegie suggestion all over the forums. Every chameleon keeper does it a little diffrent. Good job on your research! Your asking all the right questions:D

Seems very smart. I would feed your bugs that daily. You can feed them your mixture daily and dust it with a quality, organic, dry gutload. Bee pollen is enormously rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, beneficial fatty acids, carotenoids, and bioflavonoids. These are anti-viral, antibacterial and helpful in lowering cholesterol, stabilizing and strengthening capillaries.

I use the dry Flukers cricket diet and it seems to work well. The Flukers cubes are no good though.

I am sure it will keep crickets alive and it is high in calcium, but probably not the best for keeping your chameleon healthy.

I would use more vegetables, nuts, and seeds.

Here are the ingredients I found in the fluker's cricket feed:

Ingredients:
Ground yellow corn, calcium carbonate, soybean meal, wheat middlings, ground soybean hulls, meat meal, fish meal, animal fat preserved with BHA, dicalcium phosphate, salt, dl-methionine, cyanocobalamin (source of vitamin B12), riboflavin, calcium pantothenate, nicotinic acid, choline chloride, folic acid, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride, vitamin A acetate, cholecalciferol (source of vitamin D3), dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (source of vitamin E), menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite (source of vitamin K), magnesium oxide, thiamine, cobalt carbonate, ferrous carbonate, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, manganous oxide, zinc sulfate, zinc oxide.

Basically, just a bunch of junk. Yellow corn (Bad), soybean meal ( Likely, GMO soy, Bad), meat meal , ( Bad), fish meal, (Bad), animal fat preserved with BHA (wow, Bad) and on and on. I wouldn't even give it to a care taker watching my crew while on vacation.

Just thought I would toss that out there for you. It's all about reading and understanding the labels and chemistry.

Thanks for this thread. I am finding it very informative as a newbie trying to learn before I start. Hope other experienced members chime in with what they use and thoughts.:)
