The bio dude good or bad?

has anyone try the bio dude Bioactive substrate and of so do you recommend it?

Like @Remkon said, you can just simply make your own. I haven't used his stuff, but from everything I've read, it isn't bad, but completely unnecessary an overpriced. I make my own with regular soil, playsand for drainage, some coco coir, and orchid bark for aeration. There are tons of ways to make it, but that hasn't failed me yet.

I’ve used his soil and a bunch of his plants and decorations. The price wasn’t horrible, and he shipped everything extremely quick and it was well packed. I would recommend him for sure. I know there are cheaper options (make your own soil), but I didn’t have time for that. Also, I hate to say it, but he sold Arcadia t5 bulbs at a much better price than others.

Yeah I can't speak for it too much other than that's what I've mostly heard from the bio community. I checked out his site just now, has some cool stuff. Saw that a 36 quart bag is about 50 dollars+shipping.

I just switched to bioactive and used the bio dude bioactive substrate, along with the drainage layer that he sells. My enclosure has had no issues and the plants seem to be doing great. I added about 500 springtails a week ago and I’m going to start adding more insects to the cage to see if any of them can start to breed and give me Kendrick some free food haha. I absolutely recommend if you don’t have the time to make your own bioactive stuff. Fast shipping and well packed like the person said above me. I bought two schefflera’s too and they are absolutely thriving.

Thanks I do have time to make my own soil but he sells a pouch that you can use to hold the soil in the screen cage without it going trough the mash. What do you guys use to block the soil in?
