The deadliest feeder insect

ChamNovice

I wouldn't try to eat these things if I was a chameleon, but I'm glad they do. I hate these things, they always attack me. I had to battle with one for 10 min. before I finally just decided to squish it and end the fight.(Not the one in this photo) They're trained in martial arts as you can see in the photo, very lethal.... When my cham is an adult, I will feed it these things as often as I can just so I don't have to fight them. Did I mention I hate these things????

I do not remember them attacking me or fighting me when I lived in Indiana! :)

That picture is hysterical with the houses in the background and the street underneath it-makes it look like a monster! :)

I don't think they do it to everyone, but if there's a few people around and one flies in, they always go for me. They might land on the ground first, then they do that leg thing like in the pic then jump/fly at me. I don't start these fights, but I am not letting a mantis win.... I try not to kill them, but that 10 min. battle was enough. everytime I tried to walk away, it would fly after me.

That pic is just too funny! :D The mantis is shouting: "YAY! Mantis 1 - chamnovice 0!" Ha ha!! Looks like the mantis is cheering - a cool looking thing though!

This one is definitely ready for a fight though, he's doing that "crane" move from karate kid. That is a winning move, you can't defend it... I've seen the movie, that's just how it works.

Looks like a plain ol' praying mantis to me  Fighting one? That is absurd...xD I feel for you, roaches attack me... so I'm petrified. When I was five, one of these massive oak roaches flew in my face, and I couldn't swat it away, it kep coming. It was squished by an adult some minutes later x_X That is one experiance I'll never forget! I'd rather deal with an insane horse than a roach any day of the week!

Why would you want lethal martial arts trained insects sent to your home?:p

Seriously though, where can you purchase these from?

How can you hate Praying Mantises? They're arguably one of the coolest insects out there.

Plus they're totally harmless to humans. They won't attack you unless you really piss them off.

Oh no.... I just stand there, and they attack, the attack becomes much worse if you fight back. They're just out there pickin fights.
And they're pincher mouths hurt.

Thank you

U r right they r trained in kung fu, so much there is a style named after them. I agree they r deadly if u r on their food list. Maybe next time one comes in show him a sign of respect by bowing down to him before the fight and he may go away. I wonder though if they r like bees and can smell fear in people that is why they bother u. Great picture. As for me I love these guys. Love to watch them hunt, catch and eat it is very cool.
