Hi all,
This is just a post I thought a few of you would find interesting and funny. A few days ago I noticed char would have his stress colors on when I walked into the room, at first I thought it was me, but when I put my hand in the cage it would actually calm him down. So the hunt began for the cause of his stress. I started moving things around in his cage and nothing seemed to be wrong. I checked his temperatures and humidity and all were right where they should be. Then I started thinking it might be something outside of his cage. I started to move things around that were on the windowsill behind his cage when suddenly I heard a hiss. I turned around and char was pissed. I’ve never seen him that angry. I looked at what I was holding, just a piece of drift wood I couldn’t fit in his cage. I got it a little closer and he got even more angry than before. I decided to put the stick next to him to see if it was just because I was holding it and as soon as I moved away from the stick, he went crazy. He started body slamming the stick and hissing. I knew that it was causing him a lot of stress so I decided to get it out of there as soon as possible, I also didn’t want him to hurt himself. Ever since I took the stick away he hasn’t had his stress colors on at all when I walk into the room. Funny thing is, he’s never acted that way to any other stick I put in his enclosure, for the most part he’s curious when I put a stick in the cage. I’ll put some pictures of befor and after the stick. The first picture was actually taken today, since I never actually got a picture of him mad at the stick before today, the second is right after the first encounter with the stick, and the third is him calming down and chilling on my hand
