Pics Of The New Veild Cham What Do Ya Think??

while i was mopping up some excess water i thought i would grab a few shots of her(don't mind the speaker in the back ground it is being moved today lol). She is obviously pissed at me lol it's funny how quickly you catch on to that color change haha. she shows these amazing spots(dots) and stipes when she is aggitated. how does she look? Still not sure but i think she is female maybe you experts can tell better:D

yup i am going tonight to get the live plants. i will try to get a better pic she is so raunchy sometimes haha. how do her eyes look does she look hydrated and ok?

looks good. maybe u could get some pics outside of the cage with better lighting so we can see more color

Oh Geeze that would require touching her rounchy butt hahaha last time i tried to get her out she tried to bite me. i am uploading some new pics just a sec and them i will see if i can get her out.

Yup turn upside down in soapy water rinse repeat 3 times and make sure i get organic soil:D Right?

ding ding ding!!!!
swish it around in the tub. let dry about 5 minutes, rinse well, and repeat.
I did it 5 times (just in case)

I use "supersoil" brand- potting soil.
But because it has some wood barks on it, you will need to cover the top of the pot with a plastic canvas (in case your chameleon turn out to be a dirt eater like mine).
if you want to let it eat dirt, you can.. you just need to sift the soil to make sure there isn't anything large enough for her to get an impaction upon swallowing the dirts.

You'll find the plants, the soil, and the canvas easily at wal-mart.
Ficus Benjamina (weeping fig) might be hard to find cause it's winter.
A safe bet is hibiscus rosa sinensis, schefllera arboricola (umbrella tree), and golden pothos (devil's ivy)
Careful in buying schefflera and pothos.. they have some 'evil' twins that are poisonous for chameleon.
There are some poisonous scheffleras.. make sure you get the arboricola.
and there is a plant called 'philodendron' that looked like pothos. That one is a huge NO NO..

The best to get is Hibiscus as it's perfectly safe, the flower is pretty (and I heard chams love eating the flower)
but, the plant is a bit hard to keep.. as it needs sunlight the most (compared the other 3 chameleon plants)

Ficus is amazing! i love to use it. It's quite hard to kill.. but if you break the sap, a milky substance cames out and can hurt your chameleon's eyes. If you found one, and if you need to
trim it.. go ahead. but wait for 24 hours to make sure the sap has dried be4 introducing it to your cham.

Pothos is also hardy. When they are watered, they grow like crazy. but, I heard there are some oxallate contents in the plant that can block your cham's calcium absorption.
but, so far, i have no problem with Pothos. He never touch the leaves, and he is content with collard greens that i gave and some budding ficus leaves.

arghhh the pic is driving me crazy :D
lol.. the first 2 pics will be perfect to find if it is a he or a she.. but the important area were blurry.
well, don't stress her out anymore.. but basically you see where the back leg claws.. (her heels).
you will find a tiny pimple if it's a he. It should be there at this age. there is no way to mistake it. Veiled is the easiest to sex.

Just a pure speculation, you'll start seeing more greens and hints of yellow here and there as soon as the live plants there.
lemme know if my prediction accurate :)

Great poop! ;)

She is a good looking chameleon! I would hold off on the handling until she gets used to things.

Thanks i think she looks pretty i'm no expert though lol!:D Ya thats the first time since we got her that i have held her lol she kinda scares me a little and i don't want to bother her to much till she is settled in. It's funny though because ever since i took her out she seems to be coming to the door now like she wants out hahaha.
