iv being looking at thermostats and iv noticed it says it powers a heater is the heater a heat bulb or is it a heating device i will need to get?:)

Most chameleon keepers find that thermostats don't add much benefit, if any at all :eek:. I think you'll find that positioning a basking lamp to produce the correct temperatures at the basking location as measured by a combination of a remote digital temp meter and, if the budget allows, an infrared temp gun measuring the chameleon's skin temp will be all that is needed. Trying to use a thermostat to "regulate" the temperature has many pitfalls to it :(.

I like the ones with a distance to spot ratio of 6:1 or higher...

I didn't catch what part of the world that you're located so it may be tougher to find good deals on some of these items outside of the USA.
 
ok then i think i will leave the thermostat and try and track down a temp gun im from the uk :) thank you for your advice
